This is us
Marko – Junior manager
Hi, I’m Marko! You could say that I have “Burgstallerhof” running through my veins. I grew up here, trained as a chef in the hotel, and eventually worked here for two years before leaving for new shores. I worked for a total of 13 years for various companies as an IT and system administrator and was, at times, responsible for over 400 people. But my heart always belonged to Burgstallerhof. That’s why I seized the opportunity to continue the family legacy and why I took over the hotel together with Bianka in June 2022. As with a lot of chefs, I enjoy nothing more than standing behind the pots and pans. My favourite thing is to spoil Bianka with sweet Kaiserschmarren – which we both love, by the way. :)
Bianka – Junior manager
I am Bianka and l live at Burgstallerhof with Marko and our dog Coco. I grew up in a small town on Lake Müritzsee in Germany. After my first apprenticeship as a tax accountant, I followed my heart and completed an apprenticeship as a hotel manager. I then worked on a ship as well as in Kitzbühel, Zell am See, and as a hotel manager in Leogang, until I finally found myself in Feld am See. I love being in nature and I love exploring the Nock Mountains with my loved ones.
Woof, woof! I am Bianka and Marko’s dog and love playing frisbee with them. Another one of my hobbies? Playing fetch! What I don’t like at all? When Bianka and Marko want to take me out for walkies in pouring rain. But when rain turns into snow, I cannot wait to go outside! I am really lucky that Marko works as a chef and likes to pamper me with my favourite dish: grated carrots with seed oil and parmesan cheese. Mmm, yummy! By the way: I’m always happy to have furry friends to play with at Burgstallerhof!
Jeanette – receptionist
I am Jeanette. I grew up in Feld am See and now live in Radenthein. After an internship at Strandhotel Burgstaller, the warm working atmosphere here stuck with me, which is why I started my apprenticeship as a hotel and catering assistant at Burgstallerhof in 2018. Since then, I have been welcoming new guests with a heartfelt smile on my lips. In my spare time, I love baking cakes and spending time with family. In the summer you'll often find me swimming in the lake, and in the winter I like to swap my swimwear for ice skates.
Miheal – hotel and catering trainee
Hey there, I am Mihael from Arnoldstein. I am originally from Croatia, but have been living in Austria with my family since 2016. As I love working in close contact with others, I started my apprenticeship as a hotel and catering assistant at Burgstallerhof in 2022. When I’m off work, I practise Muay Thai, a martial art from Thailand.
Susi – housekeeper
Hello, my name is Susi and I’ve been working at the hotel as a housekeeper since 2020. What I like to do when I'm not keeping the Burgstallerhof tidy and the rooms spotless? Reading, biking, and exploring the world.
Gyöngyi – housekeeping
I am Gyöngyi, I was born in Hungary and have been working at Burgstallerhof since 2019. On my days off, I love spending time in nature and hiking. My loyal companion? My dog! If I want to relax, I solve puzzles – whether Sudoku or crosswords, I enjoy them all! :)
Melitta – service
My name is Melitta and I’m almost part of the furniture at Burgstallerhof. :) I was already working here when Marko was still a little “rascal”. In winter you can find me on the ski slopes, and in summer I’m out and about in the Carinthian Nock Mountains. When I want to relax, I treat myself to a spa day. But I love nothing more than when my granddaughter Rosalina comes to visit. We go to the zoo in Feld am See in summer and build igloos in winter, Rosalina knows how to keep me busy.
Gabi – head chef
Hello, I'm Gabi and I've been wielding the wooden spoon in the kitchen of Burgstallerhof since 2000. Bianka and Marko like to call me the “old soul” of the hotel. When I’m not busy in the kitchen, you can find me hiking in the Nock Mountains or swimming in Lake Millstätter See. To unwind after work, I read books or visit the casino. How to spot me? In my red convertible that I like to take for a spin around the towns of Carinthia. :)
Manuel H. – chef
Hi, I am Manuel and my hobby is … cooking, of course! Interestingly enough, I am also a tech geek. I have repaired Coco’s light-up collar countless times as she likes to bump it into things! :) I completed my cooking apprenticeship at Burgstallerhof and then returned here in 2014 after a few years of wandering. But I have to admit: There’s no better place.
Manuel F. – chef
Hello, I am Manuel and the no. 2 in the Burgstallerhof kitchen. It was in 2020 that I started working here. My biggest passion is cooking – weird for a chef, right? :) I’m never bored. In summer, I explore Carinthia’s most remote valleys on the saddle of my bike or take a dip in Lake Afritzer See. In winter or when it’s raining, I’m rooting for my favourite sports teams from the comfort of my sofa.
Tibor – Mr. spotless plates :)
Hello, my name is Tibor and just like my partner Susi, I work at Burgstallerhof. On my free days, I’m always headed for the water. My hobbies are fishing and various water sports like stand-up paddling. But I also like hiking and model making.
Gerti - breakfast service
Hi, I am Gerti and I absolutely love my job! I can’t be anything other than in a good mood, which is why my colleagues like to call me the sunshine of Burgstallerhof. I have worked at Burgstallerhof on and off for years and have known Marko since he was a little toddler. When I’m free, I like to get on my bike or travel the world.
